Top 5 Upcoming DC Superhero Movies

5. Flashpoint

It is pretty rare apart from Clark Kent that a superhero series cross that lines from Tv screen to silver screen. But DC seems to make an exception for The Flash. Flash is a character who has a Tv series and has audiences on the CW since 2014. While Grant Gustin is starring in a role of Flash in the ongoing Tv show, Ezra Miller will be the face of the Flash on the big screen. The film will release in 2020.

4. Cyborg

Ray Fisher will play the title role of Cyborg in the upcoming solo film. He was last seen as a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He is also a part of Justice League and will appear in Flashpoint as well. It seems like in the story of the film the biggest struggle for Cyborg will be to stay a human after having a robot body. Cyborg is set to hit theaters on April 3, 2020.


3. Green Lantern Corps

The 1st 2011's Green Lantern film fell flat at the box office, and now the main lead Ryan Reynolds has now become the Deadpool. The DC is all set to come up with another Green Lantern movie. It is definite that Ryan Reynolds won't reprise his role as Hal Jordan so probably the whole cast of the film will change and most likely this time the focus will be on the entire division of super-powered interstellar cops. The film will release on June 19, 2020.



2. Shazam

The superhero Shazam, earlier known as Captain Marvel (of DC comics, not Marvel Comics) is all set the debut on the big screen and to fight his main nemesis anti-hero, Black Adam. Dwayne Johnson will appear in the role of Black Adam, though who will play Shazam is not confirmed yet. The film will release on 5 April 2019.

With Wonder Woman establishing as a significant critical and commercial success than anyone foretold, it's no surprise that all eyes instantly turned to the potential for its sequel. So here comes the Wonder Women 2. The Wonder Woman was established in 1918 at the end of World War I, whereas its sequel seems like it's going to set in the 1980s and follow a Cold War narrative. The initial work on Wonder Women 2 has already started. Gal Gadot will reprise her role for this one as well. The film will release on 13 December 2019.

5. Justice League

After Wonder Woman hit it the box office with a bang, fans won't have to wait for long to see her again in Justice League, being a part of a superhero team. She comes alongside Batman, Superman, Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman. The film will release on 16 November 2017.

4. Aquaman

Aquaman is a superhero who can telepathically communicate with the sea creatures, though his comics were not fan's favourites and was the famous for superhero jokes for decades. But now it seems, not anymore. Fans were instantly overwhelmed with the king of Atlantis when they saw photos of the muscular Jason Momoa in the title role while Amber Heard features as his wife. Aquaman is to release on on 21 December 2018.

3. Justice League Part Two

The Justice League Part Two will be a standalone story and would have no connection regarding Justice League Part 1 story. All the superheroes from the first part will reprise their roles, though the dates of its release are pushed to make room for The Batman. The film will release on 14 June 2019

The Batman will first solo film of Ben Affleck as Batman, and He will be fighting with Joe Manganiello, who will play the villain Deathstroke in the film. Ben Affleck will also be producing and writing the story of the movie. The film would borrow its story from the comics, but mainly be an original story. The movie will probably release in 2019.

1. Suicide Squad 2

The producers have confirmed Suicide Squad official sequel. After tasting the huge success at the box office, the fans have high anticipation for the second film. The work on the movie hasn't started yet would probably commence in mid-2018. All the motley crew of imprisoned super-villains enlisted by a shadowy government agency to apparently do some good in the world will reprise their role in the second instalment as well. The release date is not confirmed yet but probably come in late 2019.

5. Die Hard: Year One

As the name suggests, the sixth film in Die Hard franchise will be a prequel to the first one. The film will partly set in the past, with John McClane portrayed as a rookie cop in 70s New York. Bruce Willis will return, but most probably one last time for the sixth one. An another actor will portray the young McClane, and Willis will appear in scenes in which he might narrate his past story. The production and casting for the movie have begun, and the film will most probably release by the end of 2018 or the beginning of 2019.

4. John Wick 3

Nobody can fire a gun as fast as John Wick, and those who know him would never dare to mess with him, and if they do, they know the death is near. John Wick is coming to the third time to kick some more, the writing of the film script has started. Keanu Reeves to reprise his role in the movie.

3. Alien Covenant/Prometheus 2

The Alien Covenant/Prometheus 2 which released in May this year has earned sufficient box office revenue, and now the producers have confirmed its two more sequels. The Alien: Covenant 2/Prometheus 3 will be the second sequel to Prometheus 2012, the third instalment in the Alien prequel series & the seventh chapter overall in the Alien film franchise. The cast of Alien Covenant will reprise their roles in the next film as well. The producers also confirmed that the 2nd movie would connect his prequel series, heading directly into the events of Alien 1979. The release date of the films is not decided yet.

2. Assassin’s Creed 2 & 3

After earning double of its investments, Assassin's Creed will come back with a sequel. Having approx eight games under its video game franchise with different narratives helped producers to look for more potential sequels and can add up multiple stories in their bucket, which is why they are keen to turn the film into a franchise. Till now two sequels to the movie has been planned to which the development of the Assassin's Creed 2 has already started which would likely to be based on Cold War narrative. The release date of the films is not decided yet.

1. Transformers 6, 7 & 8

In the movie the Last Knight, we saw how their plant had come very near to our land, which also makes us neighbours now. so, Transformers are not going to stop coming on the earth, at least not anytime soon. The studio has plans to release Transformers 6 on June 8, 2018, Transformers 7 on June 2019 and Transformers 8 in 2020.

The daring Ethan Hunt and his crew will be back for more death-defying stunts and insanely complicated hacks in the sixth instalment. The film will have the same cast except for Jeremy Renner who has issues regarding dates as he is busy shooting Avengers Infinity War I & II. But what if the Hawkeye has left the film the Superman has joined the adventure. Yes, "The Man Of Steel" Henry Cavill is all set to be the part of this franchise. MI 6 is scheduled to release on July 27, 2018.

The sequel is officially named as Godzilla: King of Monsters. In 1st part, we see Godzilla fighting with MUTOs. 2014 edition ended with a news headline referring to him as "King of the Monsters - saviour of our city? In this instalment, the Godly dinosaur will fight with Mothra, Rodan and the three-headed monster King Ghidorah. The film is scheduled to release on 22 March 2019.

One of the highest grossing movies ever made Avatar finally has a sequel. People have waited so long to experience same adventure all over again. The first part came in 2009, and for seven years we were expecting its sequel, and Now James Cameron has promised that we'll get four 'Avatar' instalments, due in 2020, 2022, 2023 and one more, not known when. The second part is set to release on 18 December 2020.
